Join the Library on the Go van and the Santa Barbara Dance Institute for a joyful, bilingual early childhood creative dance program at Oak Park! With over 20 years of dance education experience, SB Dance Institute will host a class that engages children in a playful journey of self-discovery, rhythm, and expression. 

Fleischmann Auditorium

Enjoy a generously sized postion of meat lasagna, salad, garlic bread, and delicious chocolate chip cookie. Bring your own beverage. We will start admitting people at 5:30 pm and you can enjoy a pre-dinner snack with your beverage while you share stories of your day. Service starts promptly at 6 pm.

Mission Historical Park

Join us for our annual Rose Pruning Day on Saturday, January 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mission Historical Park. As a January tradition for decades, volunteers are invited to spend the morning at the A.C. Postel Memorial Rose Garden to prune the approximately 1-acre garden in preparation for spring growth.

Volunteers are welcome to drop in at any time during the 4-hour event

Santa Barbara Zoo

Walk through the Zoo and enjoy the interactive light exhibit with illuminated lanterns showcasing animal and nature scenes that represent wild places from around the world. Discover the underwater seascape, beautiful birds, interactive areas, and dozens of other animals all on the Zoo’s beautiful grounds during this larger than life immersive experience.

Westside Neighborhood Center

Participant registration is quick and easy onsite. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. Once registered, simply show up to receive free groceries. Distributions are first come, first served. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Participants should bring their own bags or boxes to carry the food.

Santa Barbara Maritime Museum

SBMM is proud to host Greg Helms for the enlightening presentation “Conserving Ocean & Coast: Ocean Conservancy on Santa Barbara Channel Region’s Role at the Leading Edge,” which focuses on the region’s pivotal role in global ocean wildlife and coastal protection. This event will take place on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. and will include a pre-lecture members only reception from 6:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The cost is free for SBMM Navigators Circle members; $10 for all other members; and $20 for the general public

Twenty-Four Blackbirds

Attendees will enjoy a welcome drink while we give a brief introduction to this bean-to-bar, dark chocolate-making process. Ingredients for decorating will abound and inspire, and you’ll learn a few tidbits about how we invent flavor combinations for new delicious, sweet products at our chocolate factory.

Brilliant star soprano Julia Bullock is joined by the famed Baroque ensemble Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (OAE). Founded in 1986, the OAE employs period instruments to realize historically-informed performances of rare beauty. The evening’s program features showpieces by Vivaldi, Bach and Pachelbel alongside arias by Handel, Lully, Rameau and Purcell that highlight Bullock’s “deeply rich and richly deep” soprano (Los Angeles Times).

Lobero LIVE presents Colin Hay on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 7:30 PM. Singer-songwriter Colin Hay is beloved for his intimate, confessional live shows. The artist has had a prolific career, both as the lead singer and principal songwriter for the GRAMMY® Award-winning, multi-platinum selling band Men at Work, and a solo career that spans more than 25 years and 15 albums.

The Wildcat Lounge

Come to the Wildcat Lounge for a western-themed disco with dancing, advocacy, and fun with friends! They’ll have a raffle, a costume contest, a silent disco and more. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in their wildest cowboy attire. Come get funky for our fundamental rights!

Martin Media presents Paula Poundstone on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 7:30 PM. The iconic comedian is known for her smart, observational humor and a spontaneous wit that has become the stuff of legend. She regularly plays theaters across the country, hosts a weekly comedy podcast, Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone, and is a regular panelist on NPR’s Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me. 

Santa Barbara Harbor

At the Saturday Fishermen’s Market, fishermen sell directly to the public at City Pier every Saturday morning from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., year-round. Find the perfect catch then take it to the fillet booth and let the experts get it ready to take home in no time. Come find locally caught seafood at the Santa Barbara Harbor, from rockfish, sea bass, black cod, and halibut to abalone, mussels, ridgeback shrimp, a variety of crab, and lobster, depending on the season.

Emporium presents MANIA: The ABBA Tribute on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 6 PM. With stunning costumes, energetic choreography, and impeccable musicianship, MANIA: The ABBA Tribute recreates the magic of ABBA’s music in all its glory. This year, the iconic Swedish pop group is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of their breakthrough hit single, “Waterloo,” and MANIA can’t wait to share the joy of this huge milestone!
