Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara

Finch & Fork

Join Finch & Fork at the Kimpton Canary Hotel for a special Spring Chef’s Table featuring a fun-filled, communal Crab Bake. The menu includes a traditional seasonal Clam Bake with rock crab, chorizo, shrimp, little neck clams, corn and red potatoes, accompanied with artisan bread baskets, drawn butter and old bay seasoning. Wash it all down with some beautiful, Central Coast chardonnay.

Granada Theatre

The Chineke! Orchestra, whose motto is “championing change and celebrating diversity in classical music,” is one of Britain’s most exciting new orchestras. It was founded in London in 2015 by double bassist Chi-chi Nwanoku CBE to provide career opportunities at the highest level for Black and ethnically diverse classical musicians in the UK and Europe.

Jazz at the Lobero presents The Derek Douget Band on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 7:30 PM. Accomplished saxophonist Derek Douget, who’s served as Music Director of the Brubeck Circle Residency since 2018, returns to the Lobero stage with his stellar band of world-renowned jazz musicians – including GRAMMY® Award-winner Victor “Red” Atkins, Trumpet Mafia leader Ashlin Parker, Jason Stewart (Ellis Marsalis Trio), and GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Adonis Rose (Artistic Director of New Orleans Jazz Orchestra).

Hop into their shop and browse their selection of unique treasures featuring all things spring. Their main room displays their Easter set up, with an array of Easter bunnies, vintage children’s books and rare floral-patterned China to brighten up your Easter tablescape.

The celebrated GRAMMY® Award-winning pianist, renowned for his technical brilliance and profound musicality, has built a distinguished international career featuring collaborations with the world’s premier orchestras. Program: Mozart – Sonata in F Major, K332, Debussy – Images, Book II, Tchaikovsky – Grand Sonata in G Major, Op.37.

Granada Theatre

Drawing from his deep-seated connection to tradition and his ability to weave narratives through movement, legendary choreographer Akram Khan takes the stage alongside six renowned dancers and seven live musicians for his first ensemble piece showcasing Indian classical dance.

Dreamcote Wine Co is an intimate styled and sized tasting room offering indoor and outdoor seating. They can accommodate single ticket purchases and up to parties of 6. Please email for larger parties. Their tasting room is dog and kid friendly ( we as that they remain in your seated area)

Menchaca Chocolates

Arrive at this little, half-way underground chocolate factory, snuggled back in the corner of El Mercado. You will be offered an apron and proceed over to an old cabinet where you will see examples of the wooden Chocolate Box Projects available for you to make. Then you will receive your blank box and be guided to either the Art Bar or the Chocolate and await further instruction.

Power of Your Om Yoga Studio

This session includes the healing vibrations of sound, breathwork, and meditation. By being an active listener, you will anchor the mind to the present moment and calm the body. Bring a mat, eye mask, and anything that will help support your listening and be as comfy as possible. The room will be a comfortable temperature, not heated.

Explore Ecology Makerspace

Drop in with a recent project and any fiber arts questions you may have. Their knowledgeable staff will be there to offer tips and tricks to help bring your project to life. Crochet hooks, knitting needles, stitch counters and yarn will be available and all participants will leave with a ball of yarn each month. Open to seasoned pros and beginners, ages 13 and up.

Join Explore Ecology Makerspace for a hands-on, eco-friendly journey into sewing and mending! In collaboration with the Santa Barbara Public Library and made possible through their generous grant, this free, limited-time workshop series offers community members the chance to learn valuable skills in sewing, repairing, and upcycling clothing and textiles. From beginners to seasoned sewists, all are welcome!

Blackbird

April may bring showers, but this month’s Uncorked and On The Rocks is letting the tequila flow. Master Mixologist Devon Espinosa is back and teaming up with Executive Chef Travis Watson to lead you through a journey of the Jalisco Highlands with an Tequila El Mexicano dinner. The evening will begin with a reception on the patio, followed by a four-course dinner in Blackbird, carefully curated to perfectly pair with these cocktails.

The Good Lion

The Good Lion, the Arts District neighborhood cocktail bar, will be offering a White Russian special in honor of The Granada’s Jeff Bridges – The Big Lebowski Screening: An Evening with The Dude. Located right next to The Granada Theater, guests can stop by and enjoy a White Russian for just $10 before or after the show. Sip on The Dude’s go-to cocktail at The Good Lion and feel like you’re right in the movie!

The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara

Stitch a story of sustainability in our Sashiko Bookmarks workshop! Using scrap fabric and recycled thread, you’ll learn the traditional Japanese embroidery technique of sashiko to create beautiful, functional bookmarks. This mindful stitching practice reinforces fabric while adding intricate, eye-catching designs. 

Santa Barbara Botanic Garden

Guests aged 60 and better are invited to enjoy the Garden and special programming on six designated days throughout the year.

Sponsored by Welch-Ryce-Haider Funeral Chapels, this beloved community program features complimentary Garden admission, with a free docent-led tour at 11 a.m. on each of the designated days.

Earl Warren Showgrounds

The family adventures never end with over thirty thrilling carnival rides that twist, twirl, and spin. For the little ones, there will be a separate kiddie rides and games area. Entertainment all day, live music, adorable farm animals, petting zoo, and delicious fair food. See all the creative projects made by youth and adults of all ages and skill levels in the exhibit hall.

These producers make wine in a natural way, honoring the earth and forging a better path forward in the wine industry.

Cachuma Lake Recreation Area & Campground

The Neal Taylor Nature Center Fish Derby is an annual event that has been taking place at Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara since the mid-90s. Every year, hundreds of people venture out for weekend of fun, fishing, and festivities.

The event hosts a variety of activities. People of all ages are welcome to participate. Ages 5 and up can participate in the fish weighing contest, and earn cash and fishing gear prizes. There are also several raffles, with prizes that include fishing gear, gift baskets, local restaurant gift certificates, lake cruises, and more. There will be $5,000 in cash prizes, raffles, door prizes and more!

Terra offers a daily happy hour where you can indulge for a taste of local and organic California fare such as their Farmers Cheese and Charcuterie Board and Goleta Guacamole & House-Made Chips. Try organic botanical cocktails or enjoy discounted draft beer and wines by the glass. Sip and savor indoor at Terra lobby bar, by the fireplace or on the garden lawn by the outdoor firepit.
