at Santa Barbara Maritime Museum

Browse through this exhibit which traces the history of surfing and the evolution of surfboard design, illustrated by replica boards with oil painting vignettes of the locations, plus text and historic photographs. This book and the exhibit are the result of a unique collaboration between three important figures in the California surfing community.

The latest installation, highlighting the El Desfile de Historico (historical parade) will celebrate the pageantry and traditions of our city’s most cherished cultural festival event.  One of the most popular theme, is their exhibition - a chance to share the Museum’s incredible collection of posters, clothing, ephemera, historic film footage, oral history, photos and more.
