World Oceans Day: Free Admission at the Sea Center

It’s a day filled with fun opportunities to encounter animals from the Santa Barbara Channel and learn about local ecosystems. Come meet an array of community partners dedicated to ocean conservation and celebration, and experience the Sea Center’s interactive exhibits for free. Please note that the Sea Center closes an hour earlier than usual on this day to accommodate the event.

No tickets or RSVP required. There may be a line to enter. It will be a busy day for parking on the wharf, so consider walking, carpooling, or other forms of transportation.

Slow Art Walkthrough & Picnic Lunch

California Nature Art Museum

Step into a quieter way of experiencing art with a guided slow art walkthrough designed to move beyond the typical glance and into deeper, more intentional observation. This meditative experience invites guests to slow down, engage with curiosity, and explore the connection between art and nature at their own pace.

Over the course of 90 minutes, participants are encouraged to spend 5 to 15 minutes with individual works, allowing space for reflection and personal interpretation. The museum will be closed to the public during the walkthrough, creating a calm, uninterrupted environment to explore current exhibitions, including When the Earth Whispers Back: Nature’s Hope and Ocean Forests: Our Coastal Communities. While the experience is largely self-guided and held in comfortable silence, it begins with a brief staff introduction and includes an optional mindfulness guide to support deeper engagement.

City of Goleta Watch Party

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is coming to North America for the first time in more than 30 years, and the City of Goleta is kicking off the excitement with a free, family-friendly World Cup Watch Party. As Team Austria calls Goleta home during the tournament, the community is invited to come together and celebrate the world’s biggest sporting event.

Head to the Goleta Community Center on Friday, June 12, to watch the U.S. Men’s National Team take on Paraguay in a live-streamed match, with festivities beginning at 5:30 PM and kickoff at 6:00 PM. Guests can enjoy family-friendly World Cup-themed activities, plus free tacos and burritos from Don Pepe’s Mexican Food while supplies last. Additional food and beverages will also be available for purchase.

Bring your team spirit and enjoy an exciting evening of soccer, community, and World Cup fun in Goleta.

Beach Cleanup

Arroyo Burro Beach

Show the beach some love! Join Explore Ecology for a cleanup on the 2nd Sunday of every month at beautiful Arroyo Burro Beach. Meet in front of the Watershed Resource Center (blue building) to sign in.

You are welcome to bring your own clean up supplies or use ours. They’ll have buckets, plastic bags, and reusable or disposable gloves. Cleanups will be self-guided and can include the beach, the parking lot, or the open spaces surrounding Arroyo Burro.

Be sure to visit the Watershed Resource Center after the cleanup to see interactive displays about local watersheds from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

All participants will receive a coupon for a free cup of chowder from the Santa Barbara Shellfish Co. Community service volunteer hours are available for this fun outdoor volunteer opportunity!

Spend a summer evening at Elings Park with live music, dancing, food, and community spirit at the Kiwanis Music Nites concert series. This free, family-friendly event brings Santa Barbara together for lively performances, local vendors, raffles, and a relaxed outdoor atmosphere designed for all ages.

Guests can enjoy burgers, hot dogs, snacks, refreshing drinks, and adult beverages while taking in live music and dancing under the summer sky. Hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Santa Barbara, the series supports local youth programs and nonprofit organizations throughout the community.

The 2026 concert series takes place at Elings Park’s Singleton Pavilion on:

Juneteenth Block Party

Juneteenth Santa Barbara is a local celebration of the national recognition of Black Independence Day. It is a collaborative effort to showcase Black culture, talent, and joy in Santa Barbara County. This event centers around a free community block party that will be held seaside at the Plaza del Mar. 

The community is invited to enjoy live local music, dancing, poetry, spoken word, artist exhibitions, storytelling, and food. They will also have the Black Artisan Market, which includes Black-led community organizations showcasing their work at their own booths. 

Year-round, Juneteenth Santa Barbara utilizes its platform to uplift all Black/African American-led/serving organizations and plays a key role in coordinating Black History Month events and monthly Santa Barbara County Black Leaders Meetings.

Summer Solstice Celebration: 52nd Anniversary

Alameda Park

The 52nd Annual Summer Solstice Celebration kicks off the summer season with a vibrant explosion of creative energy, June 19-21 at Alameda Park. This year’s theme is WAVE!
 
The Summer Solstice Parade and Festival is one of the largest art events in Santa Barbara County. Spectators can expect to see vibrant displays of artwork, costumes, performances and more. The festival will begin on Friday at 4 pm, with a special concert event with delicious foods and merchants until 9 pm. The excitement will continue on Saturday at noon as the Annual Solstice Parade begins on the corner of Santa Barbara Street and Ortega and will proceed to Alameda Park, where the festivities will last all afternoon long until 8 pm. Sunday visitors come back to experience Reggae Sunday in the Park with festivities running through 7 pm.

Sunday Polo: Bentley & Land Rover USPA Intra-Circuit

Part of the 12 Goal series, the Bentley & Land Rover USPA Intra-Circuit brings three Sundays of competitive play to the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club. Expect a lively afternoon where sport and social tradition meet in one of the region’s most scenic settings.

Gates open at 12:00 p.m., with the day building to the Pony Parade, National Anthem, and 3:30 p.m. match. Guests can enjoy food and drinks from the Polo Grill, browse the Polo Boutique, and join in the divot stomp between chukkers.

Grab your macro lens and spend 90 minutes in a peaceful, before-hours setting surrounded by winged wonders in the beautiful garden of Butterflies Alive! at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. Amateur and professional shutterbugs ages 16 and up are welcome to bring their tripods for these photographer-only sessions. A photo release will be provided for you to use the images as you choose, personally or commercially.

This event is part of a three-date series, with additional sessions available on July 14 and August 18.

Pre-registration is required and space is limited to 15 participants, so sign up while space lasts.

Music Summer Camp: Week 1

Yellow Bird Music Inc.

 

Develop your singing, acting, and dancing skills at Yellow Bird Music’s Musical Theater Camp! Campers will explore the fundamentals of singing technique, grow their acting skills through improv games, and move creatively through dance and choreography. Each week concludes with a fun song-and-dance number to showcase new skills and confidence.

Designed for children ages 4–9, the camp also includes instrument exploration, creative crafts, music games, and plenty of opportunities for joyful connection. Small groups ensure personal attention, helping each camper build skills and a lasting love of musical theater. No prior music experience is required—just curiosity, creativity, and a passion for music!

Weekly sessions run from 1:00–4:00 p.m., with four weeks offered this summer: June 29–July 2, July 13–16, August 10–13, and August 17–21. Spots are limited, and each session is priced at $415. Each week will be listed separately on the calendar so families can select the session that works best.
