CYCLEMAYNIA! FAMILY STREAMER BIKE RIDE TO EARTH DAY FESTIVAL

Where: MOVE Bici Centro Community Bike Shop

Join MOVE Bici Centro Community Bike Shop for a no-cost bike art activity where you’ll make creative and colorful handlebar streamers, followed by an educational group bike ride to the Earth Day Festival at Alameda Park. No bike locks necessary; their bike valet team will securely park and watch your bikes for free while you enjoy the festival! Bring a well maintained bicycle for each rider. All children under 18 must wear a helmet and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

SANTA BARBARA EARTH DAY FESTIVAL

When: April 27-28, 2024 
Where: Alameda Park 

Join in on conversations with climate leaders, get into the groove with musical performances and art contests, build community and connect with eco-minded exhibitors, and learn how you can lean into climate action.

This festival is the longest-running and most consistently held public Earth Day celebration in the U.S. and is thought to be one of the largest on the West Coast. The festival will be featuring sustainable, local foods, a beer and wine garden, and over 200 eco-conscious exhibitors.

Santa Barbara Revels May

Where: Paseo Nuevo Shopping Center

Celebrate May Day with SB Revels at their 16th Annual May Day Celebration! Everyone coming to the May Day festivities can join in singing the seasonal songs and learning the traditional English Country dance, or just relaxing and delighting in the activities. There are flowers provided to make nosegays and posies. The day culminates in the traditional may pole ritual: two circles of participants walk in opposite directions around the may pole, holding colorful ribbon streamers and weaving intricate patterns as they move to the inside and then to the outside of each other. The result is magical!

Whale Watching

Where: SunSwept Sailing 

Each year over 25,000 Gray whales migrate around 14,000 miles from Alaska to Mexico and back. This migration is the longest of any mammal on the planet and passes through the coastal waters of Santa Barbara mid-February through mid-May.
