Nights at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art always inspire and amaze guests with time-based art, performances and new media, near your Santa Barbara home. If you live in Santa Barbara, you won't want to miss an opportunity to celebrate the Chinese New Year (Year of the Dragon) at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art next Friday, January 20th from 5:30 to 9:30pm. This special night of entertainment features activities inspired by the newly reinstalled Asian Art permanent collection and recent gallery renovation at the SBMA. It's a night of astounding imagery, and interaction including awesome art, music, dance and specialty martinis. Some of the attractions at this one of a kind event will feature a Zodiac Animal Party with Chinese Acrobats, Zodiac Masks and a Dragon Dance by the Santa Barbara Chinese American Association Dragon Dance Troupe. You can also learn the “Way-to-the-Way” in the Brush Painting Room and then get your fortune told in the Department of Fortunes. One unique attraction that will amaze and delight you features a dazzling interactive Regret/Release/Past/Present Interactive Installation/Performance. That's right, it's a whole new world at the SBMA, on Friday night, January 20th and you're gonna love the adventure. It's also a great cause, as funds raised at Nights at the Museum help support the Museum to reach 25,000 students every year with in-school, after school and community outreach programs. Tickets are $25 for SBMA Members and $35 for Non-Members. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
