The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden is a favorite place of many locals. The Santa Barbara property is home to many lovely species of local plants. People who live in Santa Barbara can be inspired to incorporate more native species into their home landscaping after a visit. The botanic garden also hosts many wonderful classes and events. Participants learn garden skills or practice new art techniques.
Santa Barbara property owners can take a really neat class this month. Come and learn about the practice of keeping a nature journal. Kate Davis will lead the class. She is an artist and also the Education Programs Coordinator. The class will begin on Wednesday, September 14th and run on Wednesdays through November 2nd. Each class meeting run for an hour, beginning at 3 p.m.
Live in Santa Barbara and Take Classes at the Botanic Garden
Every class will feature a different method of nature journaling presented by an artist. After a 15 minute introduction, there will be 30 minutes to journal together. Wander through the garden, collecting impressions and practicing each new technique. As the class goes on, you’ll begin to develop your own style and approach to nature journaling.
